Citizen Welfare Society
A continuous endeavour towards nation-building through social service
The Citizen Welfare Society was established in September 2014 with the aim of actively participating in social service, public awareness, and nation-building. The organization fundamentally believes that the foundation of any strong and prosperous nation rests upon its aware, educated, disciplined, and self-reliant citizens.
Since its inception, the organization has reached out to various sections of society and worked consistently in areas such as education, women's empowerment, skill development, digital literacy, health, environmental conservation, and raising awareness about government welfare schemes.
The organization's objective is not merely to provide assistance but to empower people to understand their rights, leverage available opportunities, and become self-reliant, thereby playing an active role in the development of their families, society, and the nation.
Women's Empowerment and Skill Development
Women's empowerment is one of the organization's key areas of work. Across various districts of Uttar Pradesh—extending down to the Gram Panchayat level—efforts are made to foster self-reliance among women and young girls through skill development initiatives, including training centers for tailoring, beauty parlor management, and computer skills.
The organization believes that when a woman becomes self-reliant, the positive impact extends beyond her own life to benefit her entire family and society. Guided by this vision, continuous efforts are made to equip women and young girls with employable skills and provide them with opportunities to move forward with confidence.
Digital and Computer Literacy
In today's digital age, knowledge of computers and digital technology is not merely a convenience but a crucial medium for accessing education, employment, and government services. Recognizing this need, the organization conducts training programs focused on computer literacy and digital awareness. The organization strives to enable children, youth, and other citizens from rural and underprivileged backgrounds to connect with the digital world and make the most of available opportunities in education, employment, and government services. The organization has also provided digital literacy training to rural citizens under the PMGDISHA (Pradhan Mantri Gramin Digital Saksharta Abhiyan) scheme.
Information on Government Schemes and Public Awareness
Central and state governments run numerous public welfare schemes for citizens. However, due to a lack of information, many eligible individuals are unable to avail themselves of the benefits of these schemes.
To address this gap, the organization strives to raise awareness among citizens—right down to the Gram Panchayat level—about various government schemes, eligibility criteria, and available facilities.
The organization aims to ensure that accurate information reaches every section of society—regardless of caste, religion, or social background—so that eligible citizens can exercise their rights and access government benefits.
Commitment to Environmental Conservation
Environmental conservation has been a key area of the organization's work since its inception. Since 2014, the organization has been conducting public awareness campaigns focused on eliminating polythene use and promoting environmental conservation. With the active participation of members, volunteers, and local citizens, efforts have been made to spread environmental awareness in both urban and rural areas.
Under the Swachh Bharat Mission, the organization has participated in various activities to sensitize citizens about cleanliness and environmental conservation. Essay writing and other awareness competitions have also been organized in schools to foster an understanding of and a sense of responsibility towards the environment among students.
We believe that environmental conservation is not the sole responsibility of the government or any single organization; the participation of every citizen is essential for a clean and safe environment.
Service During the COVID-19 Pandemic
During the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, when the entire nation was grappling with unprecedented circumstances, the organization did not shy away from its social responsibilities. Instead, it collaborated with the police and administration to extend support to those in need.
During this period, workers and volunteers associated with the organization went door-to-door to assist people and participate in awareness-raising activities. For the organization, this experience was not merely a service activity; it was an opportunity to reinforce the conviction that fulfilling one's responsibility toward society during challenging times constitutes true civic service.
*Contributing to the Building of an Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India)*
Self-reliance is not solely a matter of economic independence; it also encompasses education, skills, employment, self-confidence, and equal access to opportunities.
Guided by this vision, the organization regularly conducts training programs and workshops. Through these initiatives, efforts have been made to equip women, youth, and other citizens with valuable skills and to steer them toward self-reliance.
The organization’s goal is for beneficiaries to eventually stand on their own feet and, when the need arises, become a source of support for their families and the wider community.
